Once in the Atlantic Ocean we were sailing through the fog
That [bad word] day we celebrated fight against the British dogs
We’d just opened sixtieth barrel, flatty Paddy fell to sleep
From the ocean waves came up the Giant Squid!

He was furious as devil, he was horror of the ships
He was [bad word] devastating and enormous ocean beast
Monster looked at our frigate, Monster stoped to smoke his pipe
And we all thought at that moment “We will not survive!!!”

Meanwhile we were terrified our captain showed his braveness
He rose to the upper deck and shouted to the waves
“Hey, big Squid, you are a pirate, you can scupper any ship
But you’ll never drink more whiskey than does our bosun Chip!”

Chip O’Reely took the barrel and another took the Squid
All the sailors took the bottles and continued to drink
Our bosun drank as Devil, but the Squid could drink much too
Both forgot about the fight and nothing they could do
