From the shores of a beautiful land, across the Atlantic and through the infernal darkness of the soul, this mix from Abayomi describes a journey. Shackled aliens arrived in a strange world of heat, hatred and fear. Still, they came with a gift. Coded languages that spoke of healing and profound things from advanced civilisations far, far away. Hypnotic, driving and forward-thinking techno describes the sound of unique rising talent Abayomi, the Nigerian/London born DJ and producer, and Reclaim Your City (://aboutblank Berlin) resident. Four solid EPs under his belt include the first sold-out release on his own imprint and recently released RYC Berlin_Paris 2.0 which features Abayomi’s “Rebirth” alongside tracks from solid techno acts Anetha, I/Y & François X.

His vinyl label, like his DJ sets, unites elements of deep, raw Detroit techno and dirty Chicago house with a strong London attitude. The same-named imprint was launched in 2015 as a vehicle for his first issue under the Abayomi moniker, ‘You Sleep, They Live!’, which sold out with local support from OYE Records and received club and podcast play from the likes of Ellen Allien, Ben Sims, most recently appearing on Moderat’s BBC1 Essential Mix.
