He caught that fox upon the road, Whose eyes were quick and clever. [bad word] Johnny’s gone this night to town, He’s on his way tonight. When [bad word] no need to work, For gold or silver bright. The fox said 'sir, let me free, And keep me from this town-o.' The fox said 'sir, wishes three, I’ll grant before the dawn-o.' 'My first wish,' said the Journeyman, a-pointing to his whiskey, 'My first wish to you is that my bottle never be empty.' Cho To test his wish, the young man drank But could not drain the bottle. Before too long, the young man sank And the fox began to smile. When morn’s first light crept o’er the brink And still the young man slumbered, The fox he hid that young man’s drink And left him there bewildered. Cho x2
