When spring returned, to restore delight and provoke jealousy, the queen wanted to show her old husband the king that she was lovable. She invited the most handsome young men and beautiful maidens throughout the land [bad word] to the castle for a joyful ball. But the old king stopped the dance because he feared that someone [bad word] off with the queen in this lovely month of April. His efforts, however, were in vain. She wanted nothing to do with the old man. She needed a lighthearted lad who could give her pleasure. Anyone who saw her dance and move knew there was nobody in the world like our happy queen.
