Sin has broken us, And the flaming sword 
Of exile burns all our hopes to dust. 
Still the prophecy, Sounding clear but strange:
 “I know the plans that I have for you”
There [bad word] a King, Though he sows in tears
buried hope will grow green again

That where I am you may also be

Hear the prophet call, In the wilderness 
Prepare the way for your King [bad word] Born of David’s line, Son of Abraham
God in [bad word] to dwell with us
See the Spirit poured, To anoint the Christ 
The Father’s heart is well pleased with him.

So the table set, With the [bad word] of years
The Lord’s long work of redemption see
Hear the Lamb of God, Lord and sacrifice 
“Behold my blood of the covenant” 
Trouble [bad word]  when my work is done
Adam’s lost will be found again
