I am from a place where normality is suffering
Mom got two jobs, still [bad word] TV licence at the door, my mom is panicking
Didn’t have much but we’re still managing
I used to ask mommy, ‘get me a pair of Nikes
But she bought me Adidas with the four stripes
Sega Master Systems, second hand bikes
Spoilt brat kid? nah far from the type
I was a hard headed kid, I never use to listen
If it weren’t for my dad, I’d probably be in prison
Age of 14, I started to make my own decisions
Age of 17, I started focusing on rhythms
P-p-passion for the music
Still tryna work out how I’m gonna use it
Pure self-motivation, while I figure out this equation.

I told my dad I’m leaving college to be a star
He looked at me and said “Son, who do you think you are?”
Sitting contemplating if I made the right choice
Hearing “I told you so” in my dad’s voice
Bl-bl-blood, sweat and tears
What it took to outshine all my peers
Few months then I made a top 10 hit
Went on Top Of The Pops and that was it, yeah
Managed to move out of the ends
I bought my mom a brand new Benz
Fell out with a few friends
