along a sidewalk alone, 
i left my friend's house to call you 
but i know you're not home, 

and god only knows 
the twisted words left on your breath, 
with six people's spit, 
and a cheap pack of cigarettes, 

and i guess i'll end up alone, 
and you'll find someone to walk you home, 
i'll toss and turn as you haunt my head, 
and you'll scream and beg in your unmade, crowded bed, 

zach's passed out again, 
and it's only a quarter after nine, 
i'm pretty [bad word] and you're on my mind, 
i don't feel fine, 

trembling at the thought 
of saying everything all wrong, 
i'm in the middle of a message, 
even though you're long gone, 

and i guess i'll sleep alone; 
and you'll wake the neighbors with every moan, 
i'll blame you leaving on myself, 
while you're off [bad word] somebody else.
