Searching for pictures in the tiles on the floor
While the day light slips by almost unnoticed
Minutes to hours spent doing less
Voluntary confinement heart beat at rest 

All systems failing
Lost at sea not sailing
Only just getting by at best
I've long resisted the static I exist in
I should be calloused, instead I built this palace
Raise the bridge I'll spend the evening in 
And out the window with more than I care to know
