when a creature SWOOPED down in the gloom

Their one green eye was a real nightmare
and the blackbirds nested in their hair

they had four legs where I had two

They hugged me for breakfast 
and squeezed me for lunch
and just like bananas 
they kissed me a bunch

and that was the start 
of the finish of me!
