Sometimes when I am doing something I really enjoy
friend knocks the door so I let her in
She asks me, 
what are you up to?
And I say, I don’t know… nothing much
Maybe I’ll have a few books open looking at pages I like to see
Or I’m listening to music
Probably the telly’s on
And before she asked me what I was doing, I felt like I was really doing something
Only now I am not so sure

All the mountains high
And the [bad word] high
They don’t ask why, why do I
Something doesn’t make
Everytime I ask myself why
Why I do that thing
Shouldn’t I be doing something important

Maybe I’m doing nothing, [bad word] through a film in my mind
Or listening to cars outside on the street
Then there will be a voice in my head
The [bad word] and she said
Shouldn’t you be doing something important
Cuz look at you sitting through time and [bad word] through you 
And away with you
and what have you got to show for your time
I don’t know…
All I know is I didn’t worry about showing anything for my time
Before I asked that question why

Cuz something doesn’t make
Everytime I ask myself why
Why I do that thing
