No U-Turn Experience - Feb'97 - One In The Jungle (исполнитель: Ed Rush & Trace)
before darkstep and neurofunk there was techstep. a time dubstep head can’t remember cause they were busy with there toys. it was a time were you spend time in vinyl store to find the tune. Everything was a lot slower. Dnb was a UK scene first. It was so hard to be released on a english label when you weren’t from Brittany. But it was also a time of [bad word] underground soldiers. Don’t know why but you don’t seem to find the same dedication in a lots of dubstep head. Of course people are not pure angel there is a lot of reason to be part of the scene for each of us. But there was a kind of continuum of the hardcore rave scene which keep pushing the enveloppe. Stuff was evolving so fast at that time. Every nu technologies, nu ideas was use to it fullest. Nowadays it seem the deal is is to automate wavetable and put popish melodies. Sometime i think it’s the Internet that have [bad word] up everything. Everything is so easy (youtube tutorial about production and so on). We need to adapt and i’m sure in the end we will reach higher standards. Don’t get me wrong there is a lot of dubstep artist and dj that push the enveloppe. I’ve talked in this blog of Balkansky, Sinister souls, Brainpain or Bratkillah to name a few of creative hard and dark dubstep. Anyways i’ve planned to make a fews post about history of darkstep and crossbreed. I’m no authority about history but i think knowing a bit of the past can help to push thing forward. Anyways back to techstep. Techstep was the sound of the futur and you know what ? Futur is darkside. Techstep fuse element of techno (the detuned saw reece bass) hardcore rave with breakbeat and blend all this with a [bad word] [bad word] attitude. it’s fast, nasty, dark and take no prisonners. Later on techstep split in two ways. The one who want to push the sound design enveloppe with scifi soundscape wich will known as neurofunk. The first real neurofunk music for me is [bad word] and Optical – Wormhole And the second part is what we now know as darkstep. There was some producer who want to push darkness and violence even further than regular darkstep. Major artist in this darkstep were Dylan (and the infamous Freak Label), Technical Itch, Facs, and Resonant Evil. Anyways i’ll make a post eventually about this with more details 01 Trace & Nico – Amtrak – Nu Black 02 Decoder – Fuse – Elementz 03 Dillinja – Silverblade – Prototype 04 [bad word] & Nico – Torque – No U Turn 05 [bad word] & Nico – Technology (Boymerang Rmx) – No U Turn 06 Everything but the Girl – Before Today (Dillinja Rmx) – Virgin 07 Genotype – Toxic – Renegade Hardware 08 Makai f/ Nico – Omen (Unfair Cut) – Nu Black 09 Dillinja – Acidtrack – Pain (out) 01 Dillinja – Acidtrak – Pain (cont.) 02 [bad word] & Nico – Proton – No U Turn 03 T Power – Mutant Jazz (Trace Rmx) – not sure what one? 04 Lemon & Dillinja – 12.01 – Valve 05 Doc Scott – Shadow Boxing (Rmx) – 31 Records 06 ? 07 [bad word] & Fierce – Locust – Prototype 08 Optical – What’s The Difference? -Prototype 09 [bad word] & Nico – Technology – No U Turn 10 Photek – Ni-Ten-Ichi-Ryu – Science 11 ? https:/ [bad word] dsci4/1997mp3
