The Earth is dying
It’s screams deafen me each night I go to bed
I close my eyes but can’t get this scene out of my head
Of a beautiful forest in some remote part of the world
Being chain sawed to death I just can’t stand by and watch
I get chills down my spine, I feel like a loved one just died
I consider this a crime, so get my gat and I’ll put a [bad word] cap in your back

Indigenous peoples pushed ever closer to the edge
Their world eaten up by the capitalist machine
Corporate empires on the move
Devouring all they see, just to make green
I feel sick when I see the earth on its knees
Begging us to cease, I want peace, but not until justice is seen

We can’t live like this
The earth is not ours to use or abuse
Each tree’s a dollar
But to me It’s a living entity that must be given respect
I’ll die defending it, don’t tempt me, but I’ll kill you if you give me reason to
With the advent of industrial collapse Cities turn to dust
I’m waiting for the day when nature reclaims
I rejoice and hope that nature can sustain
Once again the beauty that we took away

But this is a symptom of industrial society
Everything is a pawn in this capitalist hierarchy
Civilization is on the demise, perhaps its time that we don’t survive
Let the oppressors die and the earth shine

My brothers and sisters in the animal kingdom are maybe closer to extinction
But humans are already dead we died way back when
There was a time when we lived in harmony with nature
When we were one, our spirits were all connected
It was a paradise I’ve heard it said it was a heaven on earth
We took only what we needed, lived [bad word] and helped the needy

We were not greedy or obsessed by capitalist dictates
But a people born free, but maybe that’s just my naiveté
Because when I look around and see the damage we’ve done
I can’t imagine that humans ever lived in harmony
Domestication of the species
What type of life are we living
Advanced technology is not the answer
Because with every mine the earth is bled dry

This is not a time for passivity
We must retaliate for our own safety
Defend the forests and all it’s greenery
This is an act of war that won’t stop until we smell victory

When was the last time you saw the stars or felt the breeze of existence?
Watched birds fly or smelled flowers in the forests?
I say go into the wild and feel the earth’s heartbeat
pulse which imbues in us all, like an energy is all I can describe
And once you’ve felt it, touch the earth and thank it that you’re still alive.
