I wonder what it is not to forgive you
When I hate you for trampling on me

I wonder if it’s your having to live with the wound
 [bad word] from being hurt by the words of another

Misunderstanding each other, falling into error, we are ever helpless

I swallowed back tears so the depths of the world we felt
Would remain unmarred by pain and sadness again today
I wonder whether I can carve this present moment before my eyes
On my heart without telling myself over and over that eventually it’ll be gone

Now and again, my heart goes off-course
But every time I lose my way, I think to myself I’m not the only one lost

Beyond the white hazy sky, stars are surely shimmering
I know they’re there, I wanna believe that

If all our living ends in transgressing
Why is it we can imagine a tomorrow that has yet to dawn?

I wiped away tears so the depths of the world we felt
Would remain undefiled by anger and hate again today
