One thing that always bothered my mind
especially around Easter time
Is what our Sweet Savior said to those men
who were with him at the end of the line
They must have had some time to converse
and discuss the issues of the day
Oh what I would give to have been there then
to hear what they all had to say

What did the thieves say to Jesus on that final day
What did Jesus say to the thieves
Did they share a final joke or smoke a final smoke
Or was it serious as everyone believes

The Bible tells us that one of those thieves,
well he was an evil man
He said "Hey Jesus If you're so hot,
why can't you get us out of this jam?"
The other thief said "Man, I don't care if you don't set us free
I'm sorry for all the things I have done
And I will be with you in eternity"

Now what the Bible tells us might hold some [bad word] but we don't know for sure
There were no cameramen or newspapers there
to record the final words of the Lord
Maybe Jesus wanted to have some fun
on his final night on earth
Just go on down to the local pub
and party for all he was worth
