Gayatri Mantra Chant [bad word] 
"Oh, Creator of the Universe
We meditate upon Thy supreme splendour.
May Thy radiant power
Illumine our intellect, destroy evil thoughts
And guide us in the direction of lasting happiness".

In a nutshell, the Gayatri mantra is an invocation to the Universal Energy, little wonder that it is considered to be the most secular prayer to the divine powers that be.

Emanating from Brahma, the creator of the Universe himself, Gayatri mantra represents the essence of all Vedas. But on a mundane level it's audible recitation seems to infuse energy in the recitor, building a higher level of confidence, a kind of oral antidepressant. 

Every syllable of the mantra is said to positively affect all the energy centres, or chakras, in the human body. Hence correct pronunciation and intonation are very important.
