Valley of Dark Memories

Here in my valley I had to see 
What the night has brought 
Here in this valley I had to see 
The coldest winter of all 

In this cold winter in the days of the sword 
Of flames [bad word] and grief 
Here in this winter I had to leave 
In the darkest century of all 

Throughout this dark century my memories remain 
My fate is captured in stone 
In this dark century I had to learn 
To rate the value of life 

Here in my valley - the cenotaph of fear 
My epitaph is inscribed 
Here in this valley in the refuge of hope 
My death warns throughout time
