3. Annùnciazione
Da ciel venne messo novello
From heaven came a new messen- ger,
cio fu l’angel Gabriello.
It was the angel Gabriel.
Nella città di Galilea,
In the city of Galilee,
ch’è chiamata Nazareth,
which is called Nazareth,
Ià u’ la Vergine naque e stette,
There where the Virgin gave birth and lived,

L’angela fo messo di Dio,
the angel was messenger of God, [bad word] o et ben finio
well begun and well ended
saviamente et senza rio,
wisely and not with malice,
annunciò lo suo libello:
he announced his message:
Ave Maria, grazia plena,
Hail Mary, full of grace,
Dio ti salvi stella serena,
God save you, serene star,
il signore è teco,
The Lord is with you,
Benedetto fra le donne.
