On this show, we discussed the phrasal verbs “to look up and look over” and we talked about the skypecaste. 

Skypecaste
Bob talked about the skypecaste and his [bad word] at not being able to moderate. There will be another sypecaste on June 14th, 9 PM Japanese time, and we hope that you will join in and that Bob can connect this time. 

We mentioned Ignacio’s idea for studying strategies by keeping words and phrases in a blog that classifies them automatically. He also gave some good links which are on the messages from the last show.

We tried to talk a bit about [bad word] on phonetics and dialects.

Phrasal Verb
“to look up” is a transitive phrasal verb and takes a direct object, so it can be split. It has several meanings:
1) it can mean to search for something in a dictionary e.g.: If you don’t know a word, look it up.
2) it can mean to locate and visit someone e.g.: If [bad word] to Tokyo, you should look us up.
3) it can also have a literal meaning e.g: Wow, look up in the sky. Can you see that star?

“to look over” is also separable and means to check or review.
e.g: There may be some mistakes in this blog, please look it over for me.
